WRITING STYLES
How Should I Write?

While there are many types of writing
styles, the type that is focused on
throughout the semester is the
academic writing style in the form of
short, single paragraph essays.  This
style does not emphasize a long
introduction, but rather a single and
direct topic sentence which makes a
specific claim.  In the body of the
paragraph, writers must demonstrate
their claim with clear examples.  Then
the parts of the paragraph are all tied
together with a single sentence
conclusion.
